In 1986, she married John B. Kane, Esquire in the dining room of the Bel Air home they would share until her death. She met her future husband on the first day of class in the 5th grade at Hampton Elementary School in Towson.
Catherine loved travelling, skiing, and spending time with family. She was a longtime treasurer of the Harford Ski Club. She skied many of the major resorts in the United States, as well as two locations in the Dolomites in Northern Italy. She loved visiting the American West and Italy, where she and her family shared wonderful memories of food and friendship.
