Catherine Elizabeth Winskowski Beyer

May 27, 1923 — June 26, 2011

Catherine Elizabeth Winskowski Beyer died Sunday morning, June 26, 2011 at Rock Spring Village in Forest Hill, MD at the age of 88. Born in Rutledge, MD, she was the daughter of the late William Reinholt and Litha Ann Busler Winskowski and wife of the late Vernon Beyer.

She was a successful housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, helping raise three generations along the way. Throughout the year, you could almost guarantee when you visited that she would be cooking or baking something for someone. She was very generous with her time. Her two favorites were her holiday sugar cookies and her year round apple dumplings. For almost two decades, she was a fulltime employee of several McDonalds' in the Bel Air area, participated in an executive trip to New York, and starred in a national commercial for them as well. She was active in her church, St. Matthew, and the Daylighters Group which she led at one time.

She is survived by her younger brother Marvel Winskowski and his wife, Pauline; daughter, Nancy Petty and her husband, Bill; grandchildren Matthew Houff and Jason Houff and his wife, Erin, and many other grandchildren by marriage and by choice, Tammy Wyatt and husband, Dale, Rachael and Vincent Petty, and Holly Tate; and 10 great-grandchildren, Felicia, Glenn, Samantha, Christina, Mikayla, Madelyn, Bradley, Zander, Emily, and "Nugget", who is due in November; sister-in-law, Esther; and nieces and a nephew. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Carl.

In lieu of flowers, we would be honored if you make a donation to the Daylighters, c/o St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 1200 Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD 21014.
