Catherine "Cass" Travers

Catherine "Cass" Travers, age 88, of Abingdon, MD passed away on April 12, 2019 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD, just shortly before celebrating her 89th birthday. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Julia (Wisniewski) Ziegel and beloved wife of the late Dennis Travers Sr. A homemaker, she attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and treated shopping (both in person and through QVC) and cleaning as her hobbies. She enjoyed playing gin rummy and Password, making crafts, watching the Baltimore Orioles, Days of Our Lives, and Jeopardy nearly every day she could, getting manicures, playing the slots (or as she would say, going “ching-chinging”), and spending summer afternoons swinging on her porch swing by the pool with her family. You couldn’t get her to step into a swimming pool if your life depended on it, though.

She is survived by her children, Dennis Travers, Jr. and wife Beth, Tony Travers and wife Petey, Dottie Wilson and husband Glen; grandchildren, Dennis Travers III, Shannon Travers, Emily Travers, Kyle Travers, Tyler Wilson, and Trevor Wilson; great grandchildren, Kamran, Brianna, Olivia, Brian, Chloe, Aaron, and Aubree; sister, Doris Moeser; brother-in-law Jack Travers and wife Shirley; sisters-in-law, Ethel Crusse and Doris Travers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Richie Zenobia; brothers, Adam Ziegel and Louis Ziegel and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law.
