Catherine A. Hess

CATHERINE A. HESS, of Aberdeen, died March 19, 2007, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. She was 86. Born Catherine A. Jersey on October 24, 1920, in Belcamp, MD, she was the daughter of the late Albert Jersey Sr. and Theresa Catherine Supik Jersey. Mrs. Hess married a naval officer and traveled for many years as a military wife before returning to Aberdeen to live and work at the Bata Shoe Company, where she retired after 16 years. Upon retirement, she moved to Sarasota, FL and resided there until 1998 when she again returned to Aberdeen. She was a member of the Florida VFW and the American Legion. She was also a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Aberdeen, MD.

Mrs. Hess was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Hess, and her brother, Thomas E. Jersey. She is survived by her brother, Albert P. Jersey Jr. of Aberdeen, MD; her sisters, Anne M. Kurtz of Aberdeen, MD, Teresa J. Williams of Edgewater, MD, and Elizabeth Reynolds of Mattawan, MI; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Stephen P. Jersey, James A. Jersey, Leo Reynolds, Michael S. Williams, Michael L. Monticello and Dennis Makielski.
