Cary Dean Whetstone

Cary Whetstone, age 79, of Forest Hill, Maryland passed away on January 5, 2023 at Dulaney Valley Assisted Living in Cockeysville, Maryland. Born in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Herbert and Esther (Schaub) Whetstone. He was a 1961 graduate at Tamaqua High School and went on to study two years at Kutztown University on a full science scholarship. At Kutztown, he met his wife Marianne Williams, having been seated by the professor in alphabetical order. They soon married and had a son Timothy Dean Whetstone, and two daughters Elizabeth Whetstone and Melissa Whetstone. He worked in sales all his career and retired at age 67 in 2010. Cary and Marianne bought a home in Florida and planned to spend their retirement there but ended up spending the last years in his oldest daughter’s home in Forest Hill, MD due to Covid and dementia. He tried his best raising his family and put both of his daughters through college.

Cary is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marianne (Williams) Whetstone; and daughters, Elizabeth Whetstone and Melissa Whetstone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Whetstone.

According to Cary’s wishes, there will be no service other than a private cremation and directions for his final resting place.
