Carroll (Callie) Winstead Hinton, 82, of Bel Air, died on February 3, 2018 at his home. He is survived by his three children, Michael C. Hinton and wife Missy of Joppa, Katrine (Kitty) A. Bollinger and husband Michael of Fallston, and Diane H. Bishop and husband Michael of Bel Air; seven grandchildren, Stacey (Anthony) Tetteris, Joshua (Rebecca) Magness, Cherie Bishop, Brittany Hinton, Erica (Andrew) Deardorff, Cory Bishop and Brooke Bollinger; and his sisters Anna Lee Spence and Katrine Reynolds, and his brother John Hinton, all of Virginia.
Callie was born in 1935 in Miskimon, VA to the late Carroll Wayland Hinton and Katrine Alice Winstead Hinton, and moved to Maryland in 1960. He was a professional truck driver starting in 1954 and opened his own company, Hinton Trucking, in 1973 until his retirement in 2001. However, he continued to drive trucks until 2014 at age 79. He became a private pilot in 1970 and enjoyed flying for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time with family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Magness, Cory Bishop, Chris Balderson-Marshall, Cliff Balderson, Bill Hinton, Rick Hinton, Keith Knight and Andrew Deardorff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 405 Williams Court, Suite 120, Baltimore, MD 21220 or the American Heart Association-Maryland, 217 E. Redwood Street, 23rd Floor, Baltimore, MD 21201.
