Hattie Carolyn Hutchins (Boggs), age 85 died at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Carolyn died of congestive heart failure with complications of Lymphoma, and is now resting with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Carolyn was born September 15th, 1936 in Forest Hill, MD. She was the daughter of the late Simon and Ruth Boggs.

Carolyn graduated nursing training from Union Memorial Hospital in 1957.  Carolyn then served as a Registered Nurse at Harford Memorial Hospital as Head RN in pediatrics. After 10 years, she then began working with the State of MD as a care manager and nurse with the Health Department, retiring in 1996. She also served as a parish nurse for the Church of the Nazarene for 15 years, serving as an RN for a total of 51 years.

Carolyn started a “letter relationship” with “Big Brother” Paul Hutchins who was in the military service in South Korea. Upon Paul’s return to the States, they began dating and eventually she married her sweetheart, husband, father and “True cheerleader” Paul Alvis Hutchins of Churchville, MD on March 22, 1958.  They lived on the family farm until 1967 when they moved to Forest Hill where they have lived ever since.

Paul and Carolyn raised two boys, Thomas and Randall.  As a mother she instilled Christian values, principles and love for their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Paul and the boys witnessed a beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother and great-grandmother. They experienced firsthand a giving, caring wife and mom.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 63 years; son Thomas Hutchins, daughter-in-law Cathy Thompson, grandchildren Holly Belt and husband David, Samuel Hutchins and wife Chrissy, son Randall Hutchins, and wife Lisa; grandsons, Jonathan and wife Lisa, and Joshua; sister Ellen Bearch and son Colby Bearch R.N.; brother, Don Boggs and his wife Denise and their daughter Jessica and brother, Simon Boggs, Jr.; and 6 great grandchildren.
