Carolyn Elizabeth Phelps

Carolyn Elizabeth Phelps, age 49, of Churchville, MD, passed peacefully on April 2, 2012 at the Cromwell Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in Baltimore, she is the daughter of Elizabeth Martha Pickett Phelps and the late John Downing Phelps. A 1980 graduate of Bel Air High School, she attended Harcum Junior College in Philadelphia, PA, Washington College in Chestertown, MD and Towson University in Towson. She worked for a travel agency and loved to travel. An aspiring artist, she was a Docent at Walters Art Gallery. She was also interested in Egyptology, enjoyed reading, played tennis, and loved her cat, Bastet.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her uncles, Charles T. Pickett of Bel Air, MD and George C. Phelps and wife Janis of Elkhorn, NE, her brother, Thomas David Phelps and wife Lynn of Wendell, ID, and beloved cousins and friends. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, John Downing Phelps Jr. and sister, Margaret Elizabeth Phelps.
