Carolyn Atwater

Carolyn Atwater, age 92, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Springfield, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Tyler Henry Offutt and Catherine (Strode) Offutt. Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerrold Bradford Atwater.

Carolyn was a dedicated member of the North Plainfield Art Center in New Jersey, where she actively participated in the china painting and quilting groups. An avid quilter and passionate crafter, she took great pride in being a "piecer" of quilts, meticulously stitching together fabrics into beautiful creations. Carolyn loved Bridge and Mahjong with friends, animals, and the many pets she cherished throughout the years.

Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Dr. Terrill Atwater of Bel Air, MD, and Bradley Atwater of Medford NJ, his wife Margaret (Donohue) Atwater, her granddaughter, Katherine (Atwater) Tambini and her husband Dr. Gregory Tambini of Bordentown NJ, as well as numerous friends and family who will miss her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Carolyn’s memory to your local animal shelter, reflecting her deep love for animals.
