Carol A. Tanenbaum passed peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. The longtime resident of Bel Air was 68. Carol Ann Andrews was born in Annapolis. A graduate of Kenwood High School, she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Towson University, and worked in the mental health field at Sheppard Pratt Hospital and Franklin Square Hospital until her retirement in May of 2005. Carol loved spending time with her family and taking trips to Ocean City, MD, which was her favorite place to visit. She was a grandmother of eight grandchildren. Also, she was an avid doll collector and enjoyed crocheting. Always generous and giving, she donated her beautiful blankets to local organizations and hospitals to bring comfort and warmth to others.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, David Tanenbaum; beloved daughter, Deborah Moxey Batzer and husband, John and children, Kyle and James; son, David Moxey Jr. and wife, Ann, and daughter, Kelsey; also parents, Charles and Dorothy Andrews. In addition, step-daughter, Sarah Fedele and husband, Paul, and children Leah and Samuel; step-son, Paul Tanenbaum and wife Elizabeth, and children, Jacob and William, and Anne Griffith; and brothers and sisters, Joann Shanahan, Beverly Kappel, Marylou Slone, and Charles Andrews Jr.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Memory of Carol Ann Tanenbaum can be made to Cancer Research Fund, University of Maryland, Marlene & Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center, 110 S. Paca Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
