Carlos Eduardo Green Ortiz

Carlos Eduardo Green-Ortiz passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 90 in Bel Air, Maryland. Born on December 19, 1934, Carlos led a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a deep love for his family, friends and animals.

He was a graduate of Barranquitas High School and later honed his skills at the Police Academy of San Juan, which paved the way for his contributions in law enforcement.

Carlos enjoyed a notable career, initially serving with distinction in the US Army before joining the Mounted Police in San Juan. His commitment to service continued at Grumman Corp. in Bethpage, NY, where he was highly respected by his colleagues.

Carlos was a man of simple pleasures, often found traveling to spend time with his beloved children and grandchildren or enjoying moments with his loving wife and Boston Terriers. His gentle, kind nature was a comfort to all who knew him. He leaves behind the love of his life, his devoted and caring wife of 38 years, Linda, and daughters Sandra (Alan) Swirski, Marlene (Deno) Yiankes, and Tracie (Andrew) Pullen. Carlos was a proud grandfather to George, Will, and Anna Swirski, Alex and Eric Yiankes, and Elise, Rachael, and Jenna Pullen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Ortiz-Green and Carmelo Green, and his siblings Violeta, Alberto, and Raphael.

A service to honor Carlos' life will be held on April 4 at 11 am at McComas Funeral Home, 50 W Broadway, Bel Air, MD, with a luncheon to follow at Enotria Restaurant in Bel Air.

Carlos' memory will be cherished by those who knew him as a pillar of quiet strength and unwavering kindness. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
