Carl "Butch" Pachilis, Jr.

September 11, 1954 — October 6, 2024

Carl "Butch" Pachilis, Jr., age 70, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the beloved son of the late Carl and Margaret (Mummert) Pachilis and the devoted husband of 19 years to Kimberly S. Pachilis.

Butch retired in 2017 after a fulfilling career. He continued to work part-time with Adrian Steel, where he delivered vehicles across the mid-atlantic. A man of many passions, he particularly enjoyed anything and everything related to cars, from working on, buying, or just browsing for long hours on the internet searching for that next purchase. It is estimated that he owned over 50 vehicles during his life, from hot rods to mini vans and everything in between.

His love for food, traveling, and spending time with family brought him endless joy, especially when it came to cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. Butch was known for his storytelling abilities; he was always the heart of a gathering, and he loved getting his picture taken with any mascot or statues that he found on his traveling journeys.

In addition to his wife, Kimberly, Butch is survived by his sons, Carl "Rusty" Pachilis, III, and Donald S. Pachilis; daughter, Stacey L. Teel; stepdaughters, Amanda Sauer and Samantha Sauer; and his cherished grandchildren, Madelyn, Sophia, Collin, and Desmond Pachilis, Jensen Teel, and Kai Smith. He is also survived by his brother, Walter Pachilis and his beloved dog Cosmo, along with extended family and friends who will forever remember his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.

Butch’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
