CARL “DINK” HARRY SHUNK, age 68, of Edgewood, died at Franklin Square Hospital, Rossville, Maryland on July 10, 2004. Born in Perryville, he was the son of the late Carl Henry, Sr. and Marcella Elizabeth Pearce Shunk. He was a brick mason. He loved fishing, crabbing, and hunting. He enjoyed setting up his model trains for his family to enjoy. He loved his dogs, Chief, Baby, and Specs.
Mr. Shunk is survived by his wife of 33 years, Vergie Marie Wilson Shunk; three sons, Carl Harry Shunk, III of Edgewood; William Alen Maxfield of Sykesville; Joseph H. Maxfield of Beltsville; two daughters, Brenda Weller of Laurel; Mary Clark of McDaniel, Kentucky; four brothers, Richard L. Shunk of Joppa; James F. Shunk of Aberdeen; William R. Shunk of Edgewood; John Donald Shunk of Bel Air; one sister, Lois J. Hawks of Bel Air; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Hayes Shunk, Tony Shunk, Ed Armstrong, John Beene, Ronnie Hawks, and Matthew Pearce.
