CARL “SONNY” E. ANDERS, age 59, of Bel Air, after a long illness passed away at his residence on June 1, 2004. Born in Glen Arm, Maryland, he was the son of the late Floyd Abe and Annie Pearl Bratton Anders. For the last 10 years he worked for Maryland Portable Concrete as a truck driver. He enjoyed NASCAR races.
Mr. Anders is survived by two daughters, Vicki A. Upchurch and her husband, Curtis L. Upchurch, Jr. of Bel Air; Kimberly L. Anders of Orlando, Florida; one brother, Wilbur Anders of Bradenton, Florida; two sisters, V. Louanna “Sis” Pennington and her husband, Mitchell, of Marion, Virginia; D. Pauline Bryant and her husband, Donnie, of Martinsville, Virginia; five grandchildren, Jeremy Erby of Orlando, Florida, Amanda Upchurch of Bel Air, Janel Upchurch of Bel Air, Diamond Erby of Orlando, Florida and Taylor Annie Upchurch of Bel Air; and two great-grandchildren, Jeremy Erby Jr. of Orlando, Florida and Autumn L. Greene of Bel Air.
