Captain Geroge Woodruff Forbes, Jr. U.S.N. Ret.

CAPTAIN GEORGE WOODRUFF FORBES, JR., U.S.N. (Ret.), age 85, of Fallston, died in Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Bel Air on June 2, 2003. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, he was the son of the late George Woodruff, Sr. and Ruth Anne Merselis Forbes. A submarine captain with the U.S. Navy, he was the Commander of the Torsek Submarine which is docked in the Baltimore Harbor. He was an avid golfer and a charter member of the Maryland Golf and Country Club.

Mr. Forbes is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pauline S. Forbes; one son, George Woodruff Forbes, III of Wilmington, Delaware; two daughters, Deborah Bloser of Bainbridge, Ohio; Tracey Murgatroyd of Malibu, California; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Ruth Forbes.
