CW3 (RET.) CALVIN DALE MULLINS age 59, died on October 28, 2005 at his home in Bel Air.
Born in Abingdon, he was the son of the late Melvin Joseph and Cyble Lee Spears Mullins. He had been an Independent Automobile Dealer from 1986 until 2001, and served as the President of the Fayetteville Independent Automobile Dealers Association as well as President of the Carolinas Independent Automobile Dealers Association. He had served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, which included two tours in Vietnam. Most of his military career was spent at Fort Bragg assigned to the 5th and 7th Special Forces Group. He was a master parachutist who retired as a CW3. Mr. Mullins was an avid golfer who loved listening to oldies music.
Mr. Mullins is survived by his wife, Dale Ann Mullins; three sons: Joseph C. Mullins of High Point, NC, Darin P. Kessler of Bakersfield, CA, and Calvin D. Mullins, Jr. of Texas; three daughters: Jennifer L Rustick and Juley Mullins, both of Longwood, FL, and Lena Ballentine of Havre de Grace; three brothers: Curtis M. Mullins of San Augustine, TX, Joseph C. Mullins of Greenville, SC, and William M. Mullins of Port Charlotte, FL; and three sisters: Oma Thron of Bel Air, Obyne Armour of Hull, GA, and Loretta Flow of Cameron, TX. He was predeceased by a sister, Wilma Kemerer.
