C. Vance Haga, Sr. age 89, of Hurlock, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army who served with the occupation forces in Japan. He was a longtime faithful member of Upper Cross Roads Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing his guitar and making music with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Haga; a son and daughter-in-law, Vance, Jr and Kathleen Haga, of Tilghman, MD, a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Jim Evans of Longs, SC; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Matty Creger of Rural Retreat, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Carol Haga.
He and his wife celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on July 13, 2010.
