C. Edward Poarch, II, age 71, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on May 30, 2023 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Lenoir, North Carolina, he was the son of Cloyde and Rosa (Turnmire) Poarch. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War in the 101st Airborne Unit. Ed was a bricklayer and stone mason and a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Local 1. After retiring, Ed worked for the Maryland State Department of Labor where he was Director of Apprenticeship Training and Prevailing Wage. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Maryland, Howard Lodge (PM) and served on the Grand Lodge Line. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite. He attended Bel Air Church of the Nazarene and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Ed was an avid Beekeeper and a member of the Susquehanna Beekeepers Association. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Ed is survived by his wife of 18 years, Barbara Poarch; daughters, Caitlin Poarch, Jessica (Gregg) Picard and Laura Brooks; son, Cody Poarch; grandchildren, Logan Brooks, Shae McCloskey and Gideon Brooks; sister, Kristal (Anthony) Spagnu; brother, Gregory Poarch; and niece, Courtney Receveur.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Poarch and niece, Rusty Poarch.
