C. MELVIN MORK, age 85, of Aberdeen, died at his residence on June 21, 2004. Born in Ladner, South Dakota, he was the son of the late Martin and Clara Bue Mork. He had retired from the U.S. Navy where he served his country in WW II and the Korean Conflict as an electrician. He was also a member of the National Guard. He was stationed at Bainbridge Naval Base in Port Deposit. He received several accommodations. He had retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was a member of the Sons of Norway and the Fleet Reserve. He enjoyed sports and often officiated at them. He also started the Northeastern Maryland Officials Association of Cecil, Harford, and Baltimore Counties. He was an avid reader.
Mr. Mork is survived by his wife of 58 years, Darlene M. Mork; one son, Gregory M. Mork and his wife, Lorraine of Syracuse, New York; two daughters, Tamara L. Spies of Aberdeen; Debra A. Vito and her husband, Edward J. of Kent, Washington; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Philip Scott Mark; three brothers and two sisters
