Burl Wagner, age 89, of Elkton, MD, died on December 13, 2010 at Abby Manor Assisted Living in Elkton, MD. Born in Baldwin, MD, he was the son of the late Hade Sherrill and Etta Elizabeth Greene Wagner, and husband, for 69 years, of the late Jessie Reedy Wagner. Born and raised on a dairy farm in Baldwin, MD, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Corp, serving our country during WWII. He owned and operated his own trucks for 15 years before joining The Southland Corporation, where he worked for 23 years as a tractor trailer driver. He retired in 1985 and moved to Ridgely, MD, and later moved to the Village of Cecil Woods near Elkton, MD.
Mr. Wagner is survived by his daughter, Doris Helen Grafton and her husband, John Burley Grafton, of Bel Air, MD; sisters, Ethel Greene of Elkton, MD and Evelyn Scarff of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Norman Burl Grafton and wife, Debbie, Jeffrey Steven Grafton, and Timothy John Grafton; and great-grandchildren, Webster, Andrew, Molly, and Jackie Grafton. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Howard and Earl Wagner.
