Brian James Kirsch, Sr.

August 28, 1956 — May 11, 2024

Brian James Kirsch, Sr., age 67, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024, at his home. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the beloved son of the late George and Lois (Thumser) Kirsch. Brian was the devoted husband of Kathleen L. Jones.
A proud Marine, Brian served his country with honor after high school. His dedication to service continued throughout his life, both in his military career and in his community.
Professionally, Brian was a skilled lineman for C&P, Bell Atlantic, and later Verizon, a trade he learned and mastered during his time in the Marines. He dedicated over 35 years of his life to his work, retiring with a sense of pride in his accomplishments.
Brian had a passion for adventure, often finding solace and joy riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and indulging in his love for model trains. His expertise in model train repair was well known, having honed his craft at M.B. Klein Inc., a model train store in Baltimore. Through his skill and generosity, he became the go-to person for train repairs in his community.
Brian was also an avid Baltimore sports fan, always following the Orioles and Ravens. He never failed to watch any of the Ravens’ games, always animatedly cheering them on.
Yet, amidst his hobbies and career, Brian's greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted husband to Kathleen and a dedicated father to his sons, Brian "Jimmy" James Kirsch, Jr., and Alexander David Kirsch. Brian cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.
Brian's joy also included four-legged family members. He adored all the dogs in his family over the years, their presence bringing him immense happiness and companionship, especially Heidi, Amber and Kora.
In addition to his wife and sons, Brian is survived by his sister, Mary Hart, and brothers, Paul Kirsch and Kevin Kirsch. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, George John Kirsch, Jr., and his first loving wife, Sharon Ann Kirsch, mother to Jimmy and Alex.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, a cause close to Brian's heart, at P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
Brian's legacy of service, love, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
