Brian Carroll Hogan

June 20, 1950 — January 25, 2025

Brian Carroll Hogan, age 74, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 25, 2025.

Brian began his professional career working in maintenance and property management. He later found his calling in the sales arena where he spent 30 years selling hardware, lighting, and kitchen and bathroom cabinets to commercial properties for various building supply companies in the Baltimore and Beltsville area.

Brian was known for his gift of gab, quick wit, and comedic timing. He had an uncanny sense of humor which he maintained throughout a long illness and kept his family, friends, and caregivers in stitches.

Brian had a passion for model trains and spent much of his free time building his layout. For the last 10 years he met weekly with a group of men, all lovers of model trains. The group rotated every week to each other’s homes to work on their layouts. Brian was also an enthusiast of target shooting, current events, and World War II history.

Brian is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Nancy Carolyn Hogan, loving sons Jason Bonner Hogan (Jacki) of Easton, MD, Brandon Carroll Hogan of Millsboro, DE; grandchildren, Victoria Ann Hogan (Roby), Sean Brian Hogan (Paul), Evelyn Carroll Hogan, Jonah David Hogan, Elizabeth June Hogan; great grandchildren, Marley Lee Ann Bradford, Ellie Rose Bradford; brother, Steven Voorhies Hogan of Biglerville, PA, sister, Carroll Charbonnet Hogan, of Sykesville, MD; He was preceded in death by his loving Father, John Carroll Hogan, Jr. of Reisterstown, MD, Mother, Marguerite Aline Voorhies, of Timonium, MD, and brother Marc Tally Hogan of Street, MD.
