Breece Leftridge

January 3, 1930 — June 9, 2005

BREECE LEFTRIDGE, age 75, of Nottingham, Maryland, formerly of Joppa, died at Franklin Square Hospital on June 9, 2005. Born in Rock Run, Maryland, he was the son of the late William Denton, Sr. and Clara Hazel Reedy Leftridge, and the husband for 43 years of the late Martha Elizabeth Leftridge. He served his country in the U.S. Army, the Coast Guard, and the National Guard. He was a member of the V.F.W. 5838 in Joppa and the American Legion in Bel Air. He grew up working on a dairy farm. He worked in brick and block masonry in residential and commercial construction. He was a member of the Leftwitch Historical Society.

Mr. Leftridge is survived by three sons, Breece W. Leftridge of Airville, Pennsylvania, Thomas R. Leftridge and his wife, Deborah K., of Joppa, and Richard D. Leftridge and his wife, Virginia N., of Rock Hall; one daughter, Theresa E. Kissinger and her husband, William H., Jr., of Nottingham; five brothers, William D. Leftridge, Jr. of South Carolina, Frank Leftridge of Pennsylvania, Roger Leftridge of Nebraska, Charles Leftridge of Pennsylvania, and Don Leftridge of Forest Hill; five sisters, Lois Harward of Bel Air, Shirley Greer of Virginia, Sally Sexton of Laplata, Phyllis Walker of Kansas, Ann Heisey of Michigan; 13 grandchildren, Devon Leftridge of Aberdeen, Jessica Leftridge of Aberdeen, Luke Leftridge of PA, Dana Wheeler of PA, Leah Wheeler of PA, Christina Kunkel of Joppa, Matthew Kunkel of Perryman, Stephanie Miller of Aberdeen, Megan Adams of PA, Katherine Kissinger of Nottingham, Patricia Kissinger of Nottingham, William Kissinger, III of Texas, Zachary Kissinger of Nottingham; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one brother, Jesse Leftridge.

Pallbearers were: Jonathon Leonard, Richard Welch, Anthony Vandewal, III, David Brown, Richard Hartman and Robert Seiser.
