Bob Fricke

BOB FRICKE, age 61, of Abingdon, MD, died on May 29, 2008 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in Huntington, NY, he was the son of the late Edwin Francis and Harriet Harmon Gronbeck Fricke. A graduate of the University of Illinois, he received a Ph.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1975. A retired Lt. Colonel for the U.S. Army, he was a toxicologist for the Environmental Protection Agency. He refurbished old cars and loved wood working, camping, and being outdoors.

Mr. Fricke is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gail Louise Poffenberger Fricke of Abingdon, Maryland; a son, Christopher A. Fricke of Bel Air, Maryland; two daughters, Kirsten E. Fricke of Baltimore, Maryland and Andrea M. McPherson and her husband, Frank McPherson IV, of Augusta, Georgia; two brothers, Edwin Fricke of Tennessee and William Fricke of Connecticut; two sisters, Karen Penrod of New Hampshire and Kathleen Wainman of Illinois; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Elena McPherson, both of Georgia.
