Robert (Bob) Louis Bearsch, Sr., age 78, of Forest Hill, Maryland passed away suddenly at his home on April 26, 2022. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of William and Laura (Hopkins) Bearsch and husband to Delvis (Henderson) Bearsch. On October 27th of this year, Bob and Del would have celebrated 60 years of marriage. To the day of his death, Bob referred to his wife as “my sweetheart.”
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his son, Robert (Tracey) L. Bearsch, Jr.; daughters, Laura (DeeAnn Chamblee) V. Bearsch, Deborah (James) A. Wilson, and Janene (John Bachmann) Parks; grandchildren, Timothy Mullins, Benjamin Wilson, Laura Wilson, Luke Wilson, Robert Bearsch, III., Jessica DeWees, Megan Morin, and Samantha Kyle; and brother, William H. Bearsch.
As a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, he served as a deacon and an usher. He was self-employed with his brother until 1986 at Bearsch's Car Care at the corner of Abingdon & Singer Roads. In 1987, he opened United Auto Center in Churchville and, exemplifying hard work and commitment, still worked there every day.
Bob loved gardening, antique cars, and especially, boating and crabbing. Anyone who knew Bob heard him talk of his many adventures on the Chesapeake Bay. A waterman all his life, Bob gave up his cherished boat and crab pots in the fall of last year. Having survived the capsizing and sinking of his boat in a storm, Bob said simply, “It’s time to stay home and take care of my sweetheart.”
Bob dedicated his life to caring for his family. To him, nothing was more important. A reference to his boating days, Bob never left anywhere without turning to those he loved and asking, “Are you under power?” He was deeply cherished and will forever be missed by the many lives he touched as a husband, father, grandfather, “Uncle Bubby,” and friend.
