Blandena Carter, of Bel Air, MD, died on August 18, 2016 at the age of 85 at her home. Born January 8, 1931 in Piney Creek, NC, she was the daughter of the late Emory Smith and Polly Jane Dowell Smith. She had worked as a seamstress at Bel Air Sewing Factory. A devoted gardener, she took great pride in her many flowers. She was humorous and made people laugh and told many interesting stories. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters, Norma Jean Kerley and husband, Richard of Bel Air, and Louise Wright of Bel Air; grandchildren, Timothy Wright of Port Deposit, MD and Michele Wright of Bel Air; and great-grandchildren, Tabitha Wright, Ashley Cochran, Scott Luke, Steven Luke, Valerie Standiford and Jamie Crilley; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Guy Carter and all 10 of her brothers and sisters. She will be greatly missed by all.
