BILL LOVETTE, age 72, of Joppa, died at Greater Baltimore Medical Center on July 8, 2004. Born in Millers Creek, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Walter Eugene Lovette and Blanche Ethel Blackburn Vannoy. A resident of Harford County for 41 years, he worked as an engineering technician manufacturing medical equipment. Later in his life he was a general contractor and also owned and drove a Good Humor Ice Cream Truck for 10 years. He was an active member of Towne Baptist Church in Joppa. He enjoyed gardening, bee keeping, photography, and woodworking.
Mr. Lovette is survived by his wife of 54 years, Reba Carol Harless Lovette; two daughters, Judy A. Phillips of Frisco, Colorado; Carol Jean Young of Cockeysville; one brother, Walter P. Lovette of Millers Creek, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Brianna J. Ryan of Frisco, Colorado; Joel W. Phillips of Timonium; Hannah G. Phillips; Isaac W. Phillips, both of Frisco, Colorado; Caroline C. D’Anna; Jacob A. Young, both of Cockeysville; Mary E. Henrich; John T. Young; and Victoria A. Young, all of Towson; and six great-grandchildren, Ana E. Henrich; John H. Henrich; John H. Young; Isabelle V. Young; Bridget A. Young, all of Towson; and Keira L. Phillips of Timonium.
Pallbearers were: Jacob A. Young, Isaac Phillips, Bobby Ryan, Joel Phillips, Phil Endlich, John Young, Fred Smith, Ralph Cook, and Frank Fields.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Students’ Fund for the establishment of the Billy E. Lovette Memorial Scholarship Endowment, P.O. Box 4957, Lutherville, Maryland 21093-4957.
