WILLIAM HENRY CROMWELL SR., age 77, of Bel Air, MD, died on February 2, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born March 11, 1930 in Abingdon, MD, he was the son of the late John Albert Harris Sr. and the late Hazel Cromwell. William, affectionately known as Billy, was a lifelong resident of Harford County. He received his early education at the Abingdon Elementary School. As a faithful member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, he received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. "Trust and believe, and in God, you can do all things." Billy sang with the John Wesley male chorus, now known as the famous, The Gospel Travelers. For a numerous amount of years, Billy served as an active member of Deer Creek Lodge 103 (known as the Masons.) For 40 years, he worked as a truck driver where his handle was "Mulehead", five years for McFadden Trucking Company, and two years for Jewel Enterprise. He also worked for 12 years for the Harford County Board of Education. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the Christmas holidays.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, two brother-in-laws, one niece, and one nephew.
Billy leaves to cherish a loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Alma Cromwell; nine children, Charles A. Cromwell Sr. of Aberdeen, MD, Dianne M. Cromwell of Aberdeen, MD, William H. Cromwell Jr. of Baltimore, MD, Jeffrey O. Cromwell of Bel Air, MD, Mark A. Cromwell of Aberdeen, Angela L. Cromwell of Bel Air, MD, Damien L. Clark of Edgewood, MD, Danita G. Cromwell of Edgewood, MD, and Jennifer R. Cromwell-Walker of Atlantic City, NJ; two brothers, John A. Harris of Joppa, MD and Charles Harris of Edgewood, MD; two sisters, Theresa Harris of Joppa, MD and Ellen
Irene Harris of Abingdon, MD; one brother-in-law, Albert Lewis of Baltimore, MD; six sister-in-laws, Grace Bishop of Aberdeen, MD, Shirley James of Street, MD, Frances Fax of Aberdeen, MD, Irene Giles of Aberdeen, MD, and Martha Lewis of Edgewood, MD; twenty three grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
