Billy J. Anders

Beloved Husband, Father, and Friend: Billy J. Anders, age 87, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on April 27, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Born in Galax, Virginia, Billy was the cherished son of the late Andy and Clara Anders and devoted husband of Phyllis Anders (nee Conti).

Billy dedicated 38 years of his life to Bethlehem Steel Shipyard before retiring in January 1999. A man of many talents, he was a licensed barber, known for his skillful cuts and warm hospitality. Friends and family would often gather at his home for a trim and lively conversation.

In his leisure time, Billy found solace in nature. He enjoyed fishing trips, finding peace by the water's edge, and cherished moments spent pitching horseshoes with family and friends. An avid Orioles fan, Billy eagerly anticipated each opening day, cheering on his beloved team with unwavering passion. 

Billy leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories. In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his devoted sons, Stephen Anders and Michael Anders, and his brother, Robert Anders. Billy will also be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends.

Billy was preceded in death by his brothers Carroll Anders, Jim Anders, and Buddy Roger Anders.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charity of Donor's Choice in Billy's memory, honoring his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
