Bill Jackson of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on September 30, 2014. He was 82 years old. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Jay and Marion Jackson. He is survived by his wife Barbara Jackson. He was the devoted father of Debbie (Jim) Doherty, Karen (Don) Irby, Susan (David) Gibbons, William (Karen) Jackson Jr., Judith Jackson, and Greg Jackson. He was the grandfather of ten grandchildren, Megan, James, Kristin, Allison, Janelle, Isaiah, Elise, Sophia, Lindsey, and Katelyn, whom he immensely enjoyed spending time with during family visits and vacations. He was predeceased by his sister Rebecca Jackson and is survived by his sister Mary Ann Chaffin and brother Thomas (Nancy) Jackson.
Mr. Jackson attended High School at Deveaux Military School in Niagara Falls, New York and later graduated from Penn State with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 40 years. He worked at the Lackawanna Plant in Buffalo, New York and moved to the Sparrows Point Plant in 1983. He was the Superintendant of the Cold Rolled Sheet Mill. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, MD for 31 years where he volunteered as the church treasurer for 10 years. He served in the United States Army.
