Beverly Ann Bavis, age 85, of Belcamp, Maryland, passed away on January 26, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Norman Day, Sr., and Anna (Hitchcock) Anastase.
Beverly retired in 2002 after more than 20 years of dedicated service as a housekeeper at the Tremont Plaza. Known for her vibrant and feisty personality, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including BINGO, traveling, and camping. Beverly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing with her grandsons, watching wildlife, and immersing herself in puzzles, painting, and drawing. She also enjoyed classic movies and music, which brought her much comfort and inspiration.
Beverly is survived by her daughters, Tina Inaku and Anna Mbatu; her son, Mark Shorter; her beloved grandchildren, Mark Shorter, Antonio Butler, Kia Butler, Tara Shorter, Alicia Smith, Justin Smith, Brianna Robinson, and Derrick Richardson; her sisters, Frances Alban, Judith Folio, and Kathie Jane Amrhein; her brothers, Norman Day, Jr., and James Anastase, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by Agnes Burse; and many nieces and nephews; and countless friends who were touched by her warmth and spirit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Day.

Beverly’s legacy of love, creativity, and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
