Betty Soth

Betty Jane Soth passed away on October 16, 2017 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born In Johnstown, PA on August 19, 1925, she was the daughter of John and Angeline Snavely. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dawson Soth and sisters, Eleanore Marsh and Gertrude Davis.

Betty was a devoted mother and is survived by her children, daughter Marjorie Johnson and husband, Charles, of Forest Hill, son Dawson S. Soth Jr. and fiancée, Elizabeth Ryan, of Houston, TX, and daughter Joanne Mccann and husband, Danny, of Delta, PA. Two sisters, Janet Harrison, Sally Poynter and brother, Jack Snavely.

Betty had seven grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson and wife Christine, Kristie McNulty and husband Brian, Adam Mccann and wife DeeDee, Jamie Mccann, M. Brenna Soth, Zachary Soth and wife Cristina, and Siri Soth; ten great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Betty was married in 1946 to her high school sweetheart, Dawson Soth. Betty and Dawson moved from Dundalk to Harford County in 1958. Betty worked for the Harford County Health Department for 30 years and retired in 1985. Betty was a lifelong member of St. Matthew’s Church and loved going to church and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed going out to dinner and collecting coins.
