Betty ''Monie'' Zane Rhea

Betty "Monie" Zane Rhea, age 82, of Aberdeen, MD , passed away on June 3, 2011 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Lebanon, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Oakland and Norma Lucille Rasnick Puckett. A homemaker, affectionately known as "Monie", she liked to write poetry and enjoyed her days when she substituted at Aberdeen High School. She was thrilled when she spoke with President Kennedy in 1963 when he came through Baltimore, MD.

Mrs. Rhea is survived by her husband, Carlos William Rhea of Aberdeen, MD, who she would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on August 5, 2011; her children, Gerald Zane Rhea and his wife, Jean of Pylesville, MD, Rita Joyce Maslin and her husband, Timmy of Elkins, WV; Michael Allen Rhea and his wife, Cathy of White Marsh, MD, Corliss Maria Thomas and her husband, George of Aberdeen, MD, and William Drew Rhea of North East, MD; 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Kent Rhea.
