Betty Jane Messick

Betty Jane Messick, age 86, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John and Christina (Dietz) Ehrman and the beloved wife of Merrill A. Messick, Jr. for 65 years.

A devoted member of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Betty was actively involved with the Altar Guild for much of her life. Her love for gardening, camping, and scrapbooking brought joy to her and her family.

Betty is survived by her husband, Merrill A. Messick, Jr.; her son, Merrill A. Messick III (Rhonda); her daughter, Beverly Huey (Richard); and her cherished grandchildren, Lauren Frady (Wesley), Jacob Huey, and Matthew Messick. She also leaves behind her precious great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Frady, and her sisters, Laura Dobbs, Mary Dietz, and Margaret Akins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Wilson; her brother, John Ehrman, Jr.; and her sister, Christine Winningham.
