Betty L. Bowers

BETTY L. BOWERS, age 61, of Abingdon, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on March 28, 2003. Born in Harford County, she was the daughter of the late Kyle Daniel, Sr. and Vera Virginia Wilson Bowers. She had worked as a seamstress for Glenn Eagle in Bel Air and the Bata Shoe Company. She was a member of Emmorton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years.

Miss Bowers is survived by one brother, Kyle Daniel Bowers, Jr. of Phillipi, Virginia; four sisters, Jean Furches of Abingdon; Oleita H. Yonce of Jarrettsville; Debbie E. Johnson of Abingdon; Junita V. Hooper of Bel Air; 11 nieces and nephews; and 21 great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were: Ricky Johnson, D.J. Johnson, Mark Johnson, Eric Barber, Terry Watkins, Marty Watkins, and Larry Barber.
