Betty Jean Mick

September 10, 1931 — November 5, 2006

BETTY JEAN MICK, age 75, of Jarrettsville, MD, died on November 5, 2006, at her home. Born in Orlando, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Lee and Marie Palmer Barnett. After high school, she went to Parkersburg Business College. After graduating from Business College, she married her high school sweetheart in1950. They had been born two houses apart. They moved to Maryland and she supported her husband during his Navy career. After the Navy, they settled in Maryland. She worked as an Instructional Assistant for 20 years at Edgewood Elementary School. She had been active with Vacation Bible School and Sunday School for 35 years, and was currently a member of North Harford Baptist Church. Her hobbies included baking, sewing, and enjoying her grandchildren. Her greatest gift was her love of people and her unselfishness towards everyone.

Mrs. Mick is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Ernest Mick, Sr. of Jarrettsville, MD; two sons, Charles E. Mick, Jr. of Ellicott City, MD, and William C. Mick of Fredericksburg, VA; one daughter, Connie L. Evans and her husband Edmund of Ellicott City, MD; one daughter-in-law, Diane Mick of Catonsville, MD; one brother, Dale Barnett of Parkersburg, WV; and seven grandchildren, Ashley Evans and E. Eric Evans, Jr., both of Ellicott City, MD, Trey Mick and Cameron Mick, both of Catonsville, MD, and Paul De Silva, Grace Mick, and Eli Mick, all of Fredericksburg, VA.
Friends may call at the McComas Funeral Home, P.A., in Bel Air, MD, on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at North Harford Baptist Church on Thursday, November 9, 2006, at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Manry officiating. Entombment will be in Highview Memorial Gardens, Fallston, MD. There will be a reception at the church after the Entombment.

Pallbearers will be Charles Mick, Jr., William Mick, Trey Mick, Ed Evans, Ashley Evans, and Paul De Silva.

Contributions may be made to North Harford Baptist Church, 4008 Old Federal Hill Rd., Jarrettsville, MD 21084.
