Betty Jane Polk

Betty Jane Polk, age 76, of Abingdon, MD passed away on August 14, 2018 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born in Joppa, MD, she was the daughter of John Jack and Isabele (Porter) Bishop Sr. and was the wife of the late Ernest Polk Jr. She was a long time dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Betty loved to bake for her family and loved her cat Hilda.

Mrs. Polk is survived by son, John C. Polk and his wife, Barbara of Kill Devil Hills, NC; daughter, Sandy Whittington and her husband, Michael of Abingdon; two great-granddaughters, Faith Eileen Bender and Ashley Breanna Bender; two great-grandsons, Michael Logan Bender and John Gabriel Small; sister, Joan F. Lowe of Scottsville, VA; and two nieces, Robin and Terry Lowe.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Randall Ray Bender and brother, John J. Bishop Jr.
