Betty Jane Lewis

Betty Jane "Elizabeth" Lewis, age 87, of Aberdeen, MD passed away on February 19, 2017 at her home. Born in Aberdeen, she was the daughter of Randall Cirell and Matilda Ann (Spies) Long and was the wife of the late George Wilburn Lewis. She created the Stoney Forest Riding Club and was a member of the Chesapeake Trail Riders Association, The VA Trail Riders Association and The Maryland Terrapins Travel Group. An avid horsewoman, she taught riding lessons for many years at her farm. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, and was also a member of the Red Hat Club.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by her brother, Eugene Vincent Long of Aberdeen; and nieces and nephews, Debbie M. Long of Aberdeen, Ron (Phyllis) A. Long of Bel Air, Gene (Patti ) V. Long of West Palm Beach, FL, Joseph (Trish) R. Long of Aberdeen, Edith (Joseph) Ann Sommers of Aberdeen, Kevin L. Brophy of Wellington, FL, Karen (Michael) Ebert of Egg Township, NJ, Robert (Cheryl) P. Brophy of Annville, PA and Nancy (Doug) Obreicht of Yardley, PA.

Pallbearers were Gene Long, Ron Long, Kevin L. Brophy, Joseph Long, Nathan Long and David Laubach.
