Betty Jane Hoffman

Betty Jane Hoffman, age 78, of Joppa, MD, died on October 13, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer Clyde and Marion Lavinia Tregoning Rippeon. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch, duckpin bowling, and going to the casino and slots. She was also an excellent seamstress, and loved being with her family and friends.

Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her husband of 56 years and 9 month, who she married on Valentines Day, Meral Harold Hoffman of Joppa, MD; son, Gregory Dale Hoffman and wife, Pamela, of Bel Air, MD; daughters, Robin Lynn Bachelor and husband, John, of Joppa, MD and Teresa Marie Phelps and husband, Stanley, of Pasadena, MD; brothers, Kenneth Rippeon of Silver Run, MD and Carl Rippeon of Bel Air, MD; sisters, Winifred Trussell of Gettysburg, PA and Patsy Olsen of Smyrna, DE; and one grandson, Bruce A. Hoffman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Wilmer Clyde Rippeon Jr.
