Betty J. Reed

BETTY J. REED, age 72, of Shrewsbury, PA, formerly of Edgewood, MD, died on February 11, 2007, at Barbara J. Egan Nursing Home, Shrewsbury, PA. Born in Yukon, WV, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Honaker and the late Ada Lou Honaker Sparks and the wife of the late Charlie “Jake” Howard Reed. She was one of fourteen children. She retired in December, 2004, as a lobby attendant for the Best Western Hotel owned by the Hess family.

Mrs. Reed is survived by a son, James Edward Reed, and his wife, Gale, of Shrewsbury, PA; two brothers, Howard Honaker of Quitman, TX, and David Honaker of West Jefferson, OH; one sister, Jackie Clopper of Eaton, OH; and three grandchildren, Jacob Matthew Reed, Julianna Renee Reed, and Justin Edward Reed, all of Shrewsbury, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Charles “Chuck” Reed, and ten siblings.

Pallbearers will be James E. Reed, Jacob M. Reed, Edward G. Sauter, Richard Reed, Dave Rutherford, and Robert Kaetzel.
