Betty F. Cowan

Betty F. Cowan, age 88, of Fallston, Maryland, passed away on January 14, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland.
Born in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Bonnie (Comer) Rutherford and the beloved wife of Peter Cowan, Sr. Betty was a devoted member of Welcome Home Free Will Baptist Church. She shared 71 years of marriage with the love of her life, Pete. Betty found joy in spending time with her family, bird watching, and decorating for all the holidays. She dedicated 30 years of her life to the Belko Corporation as a press operator, retiring in the late 1990s.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Peter Cowan, Sr., and their children: Sherry (Dennis) Smith of Delta, PA; Terry (Chris) Leonard of Bel Air, MD; Betty (David) Kline of Edgewood, MD; and Pete Cowan, Jr. and his girlfriend Jennifer Smith of Bel Air, MD. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren on the way, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Betty is remembered by her sister, Irene Greer, and brother, Jesse Rutherford.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by sisters Gleadith Atwood and Nina Childers.
