Betty Ann Coale

Betty Ann Coale, age 86, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, at Sterling Care in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late J. Frederick and Sarah (Fitzcharles) Miller and the beloved wife of the late Basil Webster Coale, Sr.

Betty Ann was born and raised in Phoenixville. She met her future husband, Basil, in Bel Air while both were serving in a wedding party. After their own wedding, they settled in Harford County. She began working at Aberdeen Proving Ground as an Administrative Assistant in the Logistic Studies Division of AAMSA. After taking time to raise her family, Betty Ann returned to work in the same division. She was also an active and dedicated member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Churchville, MD.

She and her husband enjoyed spending winters together in Pine Island, Florida. Betty Ann cherished her role as a grandmother and loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events, taking immense pride in their accomplishments.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Charles Bachman) Coale and Sally (Christopher) C. Beck; son, Basil W. (Dana) Coale, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Alexander C. Beck, Nathan T. Coale, Rowan E. Coale, and Andrew C. Beck.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Ray.
