Betty Betzing

Betty Betzing, age 90, of Forest Hill, Md., passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015, in Bel Air, Md.

Betty was born on February 11, 1925 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Theodore Schatzberg and Delina Dulong Schatberg. She was the sister of Charles Schatzberg and Theodore Schatzberg.

Betty is pre-deceased by her husband, Robert Betzing. Betty and Bob met during the summer of 1938 at their parent's summer homes in Fair Haven, MI. They married on June 27, 1947, after Bob returned from the US Navy following World War II.

As a young woman, Betty worked in a Detroit Bank, as a teller. Following their marriage, Betty and Bob established a home in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and later moved to Larchmont, New York, and then Greenwich, Connecticut. Throughout the years, Betty enjoyed traveling with Bob for business, gardening and creative sewing. Betty was extremely gifted and a talented painter. She created many beautiful pieces. Upon retirement, Betty and Bob moved to Forest Hill, MD, to be near their son.

Betty is survived by her son, Gary Betzing and her daughter, Susan Burdette. She has five grandchildren, Jennifer Burdette Campbell, Catherine Burdette Turner, Jonathan Burdette, Christine Betzing and Lauren Betzing Warren, and four great grand children, Elizabeth Campbell, Robert Campbell, Christopher Campbell and Parker Warren.

Betty's life was honored by a small meaningful family service at the home of her son.
