BESSIE MAXINE JARVIS, age 79, of Forest Hill, died at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center on April 10, 2006. Born in High Point, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Solomon Bruce and Bessie Edwards Jarvis. She graduated from the Maryland State School for the Deaf on May 29, 1947. She worked as a seamstress for Glen Eagle Manufacturing Company until 1991 when she retired. She enjoyed time spent with people and working on jigsaw puzzles. Her deaf friends were very important to her. She was a member of Oak Grave Baptist Church and participated in the Silent Choir for many years.
Miss Jarvis is survived by three brothers, John Howard Jarvis of Polk City, Florida, Carroll Lee Jarvis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and James Odell Jarvis of Jarrettsville, Maryland; two sisters, Emma Lou Long of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina and Freeda Mae Eagle of Forest Jill, Maryland; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Homer Eugene Jarvis, Kyle Bruce Jarvis, and Elmer Paul Jarvis.
Pallbearers will be: Carroll Lee Jarvis, James Odell Jarvis, Charles Eagle, Christopher Eagle, Nathan Eagle, and Richard Kestner.
