Bessie M. Hiltz

BESSIE M. HILTZ, age 94, of Bel Air, MD, died on April 24, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Owen and Bessie Merriam Phelps Benny and wife of the late Alfred Hiltz and her first husband, the late William M. Poulsen Sr. She married Al Hiltz in 1965 and then moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where they lived until 1991, after which they returned to Joppa and then to Bel Air. She had worked as an office manager and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hiltz is survived by her son, William M. Poulsen Jr. and his wife, Doris M., of Stewartstown, PA; a niece, Elizabeth Smith of Gettysburg, PA; four grandchildren, Kim Bachmann and her husband, James, of Fallston, MD, William Mads Poulsen III of Joppa, MD, Kyle Poulsen and his wife, Dana, of Covington, LA, Brooks Poulsen and his wife, Kelly, of Bel Air, MD; nine great-grandchildren, Nathan, Peter, Jonathan, and Stephen Bachmann of Fallston, MD, Lila, Sawyer, and Finley Poulsen of Covington, LA, and Carter and Cory Poulsen of Bel Air, MD; stepson, Howard Hiltz and his wife, Wilma, of Johnstown, PA; grandsons, Richard Hiltz of Salem, VA, and Brian Hiltz and his wife, Lori, of Johnstown, PA; and great-grandchildren, Brittany and Benjamin Hiltz of Johnstown, PA. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by a sister, Elma Hilgartner.
