Bertha Ella Davis

Bertha Ella Davis, age 94, of Bel Air, MD, died on December 13, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Mouth of Wilson, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Myrtle Lee DeBord Phipps, and wife of the late John L. Davis. She retired after 20 years, from Aberdeen Proving Ground, Edgewood Area, where she was a Procurement Officer. An avid Yankee fan, she was a champion horseshoe pitcher, and was a member of Welcome Home Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her sister, Sally Street of NC; two grandsons, Philip D. Kilby of Abingdon, MD and David M. Kilby of Bel Air, MD; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Janet F. Kilby.
