Bernie Morgan, age 71, of Bel Air, MD passed away on April 16, 2018 at his home. Born in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of Howard Reed and Lessie Gladys (Abbott) Morgan. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Bel Air, The American Legion in Bel Air and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a retired Harford County Sheriff's Deputy, and he was also retired from the Maryland Air National Guard. He was an avid reader, walker on the Ma and Pa Trail, and Oriole fan. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and his antique car. Bernie cherished his time with all of his family, especially his grandchildren, along with friends from many walks of life.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lorraine E. Morgan; son, Mark S. Durante of Dallas, TX; daughter, Kerry J. Smith of Richmond, VA; brother, Glenn R. Morgan of Joppa; sister, Janice A. Scott of Bel Air; grandchildren, Alexis Smith, Jourdan Durante, Ethan Durante, Aden Smith and Lily Smith; and great granddaughter, Elizabeth Edwards.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kendall W. Morgan and sister, Barbara Ann Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Tim Freeman, Carl Otter, Tom Ruth, Wolfgang Wallace, Dave Novak and Bill Ihnat.
