Bernice E Johnson

BERNICE E. JOHNSON, age 87, of Port Deposit, died at Citizen Nursing Home in Havre de Grace on July 14, 2003. Born in Sparta, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Garfield Martin and Verna Bennett Wilson and the wife for 57 years of the late James Monroe Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by one son, James M. Johnson of Joppa; one daughter, Evelyn R. Maxwell of Port Deposit; one brother, Lester Wilson of Spokane, Washington; one sister, Mary Hull of Montour Falls, New York; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, David M. Johnson, Sr. and two daughters, Verna Mae Blakeley; and Oma Faye Arbuagh.
