Bernard Ellwood Smith, Jr., age 86, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away on May 23, 2024, at Sterling Care Riverside in Belcamp, Maryland. He was born in Baltimore City, Maryland, the beloved son of the late Bernard and Gladys (Hook) Smith.
Bernard dedicated his life to the sport he loved, serving as a professional Bowling instructor for many years. His passion extended beyond the lanes; he found joy in fishing, golfing, and of course, bowling. Bernard's devotion to his family was unwavering, always ready to lend a helping hand whenever they needed him.
Bernard is survived by his nieces, Helena Guthrie, and Tammy Haines; nephew, Gary Baublitz; great-nieces, Amber Nicole Callender, Amanda Marie Wagg, Anjulee Renata Guthrie, Caitlin Wernz, Kenady Schwinn, and Cynthia Baublitz; great-nephew, Ethan Baublitz; great-great-niece, Audrey Rose Callender; and great-great-nephew, Hunter Oden.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Smith, George Smith, Charles Smith, and sister, Vera Baublitz.
Bernard's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him, cherished his friendship, and were touched by his kindness.
