Bernard Preston Hilditch, Jr.

Bernard Preston Hilditch Jr., age 71, of Aberdeen, Maryland passed away on September 16, 2022 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of Bernard Hilditch Sr. and Betty (Shue) Hilditch. He worked for DXI Construction Company in Harford County where he retired as a machine operator and was a member of Mountain Christian Church in Joppa. As a young man Bernard enjoyed playing sports and earned the Most Outstanding Athlete Award, however, his most precious award was when he earned his Eagle Scout Award. Bernard loved to work and be outside and found solitude in mowing his yard and chopping firewood. As a good person, he enjoyed plowing the snow for his neighbors when he could. He enjoyed doing odd jobs for anyone who needed things. He also enjoyed going for drives with his wife and seeing eagles. Bernard loved and trusted Jesus which gave him peace.

Bernard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra Hilditch; son, Bernard Preston Hilditch III, his wife, Elizabeth (Beth) and son DJ; and grandchild, Kelsea Allison Hilditch.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Florence Hilditch, brothers, Johnnie Hilditch, William "Bill" Hilditch and Tony Hilditch, stepbrothers, William Hampton, Tommy Hampton and Richard Hampton.
